Pasquale “Charlie” Cuzzetto Obituary British Columbia Death: It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Pasquale “Charlie” Cuzzetto, who passed away peacefully on Sunday at the age of 76. A towering figure in Canadian sport, Charlie’s life and legacy have left an enduring mark on soccer and futsal in British Columbia and across the nation. This obituary 2026 tribute honors a true pioneer, leader, and ambassador of the game.

Charlie Cuzzetto dedicated more than 50 years to the growth and development of soccer and futsal. As a founding member of Futsal Canada, he played a crucial role in introducing and expanding the sport nationwide. His leadership extended to serving on the Canada Soccer Board, where he helped shape the future of the game at the highest level.

Charlie’s career was defined by international service and pioneering vision. He coached and managed Canadian teams at four FIFA Futsal World Championships, including Spain (1985), Australia (1988), Italy (1991), and Argentina (1996). He also served as Head of Delegation, Team Manager, Coach, and Match Commissioner across multiple FIFA and CONCACAF events.

A fearless innovator, Charlie helped organize the first Aboriginal Indoor Soccer Cup (1987–88) and the first National Youth Futsal Championships in British Columbia in 2012. His contributions earned him Life Membership with BC Soccer and induction into the BC Soccer Hall of Fame in 2025.

Charlie will be remembered as passionate, determined, and deeply devoted to the sport he loved. Friends and colleagues describe him as a builder of people, a mentor to many, and a man who broke barriers to create opportunities for future generations.

He is deeply mourned by his family, friends, colleagues, and the entire soccer community across Canada.
