Woodstock Town New Brunswick Death: The community of Woodstock is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Scott Braden Ralston, who passed away suddenly on May 13, 2026, at the Upper River Valley Hospital at the age of 61. Scott’s passing has left a tremendous void in the hearts of his family, friends, colleagues, and the countless people whose lives he touched through decades of dedicated public service.
Born in Woodstock on October 15, 1964, Scott was the son of the late E. Gwen Ralston and was also predeceased by his beloved brother, Shane Ralston. Throughout his life, Scott became widely respected as a compassionate leader, tireless volunteer, and proud supporter of his community.
From a young age, Scott devoted himself to helping others through organizations such as the Scouts Canada and Saint John Ambulance. He later became an ambulance attendant and co-founded Carleton-York EMS alongside longtime business partner Ellis Hudson in 1996, helping provide critical emergency services across Carleton County for more than a decade.
Scott also served as an auxiliary town police officer and jail guard for Woodstock while remaining deeply involved with the New Brunswick Snowmobile Trail Association in various leadership roles.
Known for his infectious laugh, generous spirit, and love of playing crib with friends at Slater Road camp, Scott never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Keeping with Scott’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. A graveside celebration of life will take place at Magundy Sandbank Cemetery on June 5 at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Scott Ralston’s memory may be made to St. James United Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice. His legacy of kindness, service, and community dedication will never be forgotten.
